Manifest file is missing
Sometimes when compiling a Visual Studio project using a third party package such as Advanced Installer, you will see an error message that says a manifest file is missing.
- 1. Remove the manifest from your list of files to be installed on the target machine because the [application].vhost.manifest file is there for the IDE, not the run time program that is installed
- 2. If you really need the manifest file on the target machine (not sure why), rebuild the project, exit Visual Studio, then come back and run the project from the IDE.
- 3. If step 2 above fails to fix the problem, try various orders and variations of step 2 above.
